Today we live two lives-the physical and a virtual which we create by our online presence. When you die, the physical presence comes to an end even as our virtual presence Stay in a place longer than necessary. So, what happens to all this content we have created, virtual transactions and online accounts? Facebook provides your friends and relatives the option of memorializing a person’s account who is deceased, to protect privacy.
The Facebook blog says “Memorializing an account sets the account privacy so that only confirmed friends can see the profile or locate it in search. Friends and family can leave posts in remembrance,”.
It prevents anyone from logging into the account. Facebook does not disclose login details of account, but “verified immediate family members” can also request the removal of an account.
